U12 Framework Enhance Skating Control & Ringette Skill Application Goal | Strengthen skating efficiency while developing foundational ringette skills. Objective | Improve edge quality, forward and backward skating, and transitions while developing passing on the move, ring protection, receiving under light pressure, and shooting accuracy. Needs | Skill consolidation and confidence skating with increased movement and pace. On-Ice Session Layout (60 Minutes) Warm-Up / Warm-Up Game ( Approx. 5 min) Dynamic skating games emphasizing agility, coordination, and awareness. Skating Techniques (Approx. 20 min) Focus on edge control, crossovers, transitions, and balanced acceleration. Ringette Fundamentals (Approx. 20 min) Develop passing on the move, receiving under pressure, ring protection, and introductory checking concepts. Gameplay / Fun / Competition (Approx. 15 min) Small-area games that encourage decision-making, teamwork, and creativity.
